Tourney details
"from MD-Discgolf.com" (from John Merhi-TD)
THE WHOLE COURSE HAS BEEN MOWED AND IT LOOKS LIKE A COUNTRY CLUB! (Thank you Ranger Powell!)
These are most likely the holes we'll play:
Rd 1: 1-18 (Short to A)
Rd 2: 10-27 (Long to A)
Rd 3: 1-9, 19-27 (Long to B)
Rd 4: Not sure. Maybe 1-18, maybe 10-27 (Short to C). Definitely not the same as Round 3. The main thing is that 3 of the 4 rounds will contain Holes 10-18.
Intermediate division plays all 4 rounds from the short tees.

No Longer Approved

After previously approved by the PDGA and its affiliates, The following disc is no longer approved.
Check out the Turbo Putt, one of the most controversial discs in disc golf. Not only does this disc have the most unique shape we've ever seen, but it is also one of the only discs to ever have its PDGA Approval rescinded.
The Turbo Putt is made from a soft rubbery plastic that is similar to a DGA Blowfly, but less floppy. As the name suggests, this disc is specifically designed for players who Turbo Putt. Turbo putts are executed by holding the disc like a waiter would hold a tray, with the fingers on the outside of the rim and the thumb under the disc towards the middle. The edge of this unique disc features bumps that allow turbo putters to lock their fingers into the rim. The underside of this disc is also unique in that it features a spiral protrusion that serves as a grip for the thumb. Don't feel left out if you're a spin putter, the Turbo Putt will grab the chains with its teeth just as well on traditional putts too!
This disc is already considered a collectible, as it has "PDGA Aprroved 6-5-07" stamped into the underside. Whether you're looking for a great new putter or a cool piece of disc golf history, I suggest you grab one of these while you can. As of July, Quest had no further plans to produce this disc.
Features:
Speed: 1
Glide: 1
Fade: 1
Turn: 1
Distance: 1
Overall Stability Rating 0.0
Soft Rubbery Plastic
Crazy Unique Design for Turbo Putting players
Highly Collectible "Approved 6-5-07" Mold.

Basket of the Day

Lubbock, Texas
"In case you are wondering, this wedding cake was made to look like a Disc Golf Basket. There was a PDGA tournment here in Lubbock and this couple was participating at this tournament as well as getting married." i wouldn't recommend throwing any discs at it.....or else just throw all your discs at it!

My Favorite

Killer design, this is the one.
Santa Cruz, CA
My good buddy KB (The Platinumsmith) built this one over the holiday break. We had been scheming up the design for a while. The inspiration spurned from a pile of old bicycle rims at a neighborhood bike shop. I knew the rims could be used for basket making so I consulted the expert.
He cut and soldered two rims in the shape of a bowl. The netting is old fish net. The aluminum is light and shouldn’t rust.
KB was worried that without an inner layer of chain the basket might not catch…he invested in the good stuff which he found for 79 cents a foot at Lowe’s. He hates to support mega-chains but the price was right and the basket catches like a dream!
Ever the perfectionist, KB isn’t happy with the slight tilt of the apparatus but this a first generation. He plans to build one or two more. This is a very practical practice basket that will be primarily used for putting in his yard. It breaks down easily and transports well.
The total cost was $71, his time and a six pack of brew
